Frequently Asked Questions

1. Who are these routes for?

If you like riding at your own pace, exploring beyond the obvious, and finding routes that feel a bit more personal, you’ll feel at home here.

Whether you’re planning a multi-day trip or just looking for a great ride while you’re in the region, we hope these routes help you experience Dalmatia the way we know it.

You can ride this bike trail all year round. Still, some parts are better than others. Spring and autumn offer great weather, warm enough, but not too warm, and way less busy roads than during the summer. During the winter, you will need to pay closer attention to logistics (fewer ferry services and fewer private accommodation options).

Think of the itinerary as a suggestion. We offer a detailed seven-day itinerary that you can either follow or use as an idea. You can skip or add routes, depending on your preferences and plans. That’s the beauty of the Trans Dalmatia – your pace, your trails.

Although the tour is suitable for beginners, certain cycling experience is required. Physically and technically, it is an easy-to-moderate bike tour. The pace is adapted to your preferences.

You buy a navigation package. It can be a basic one or a full navigation pack. Depending on the package, you receive more or less detailed routes, instructions, and points of interest. All you need to know about the navigation packages is here (dodati link).

Accommodation, restaurants, national or nature parks entrance fees, or anything else is not included in the price.

Trans Dalmatia is an independent project created by three local cyclists. We’ve spent years exploring cycling routes in the Zadar region and across Dalmatia. This isn’t route planning from behind a screen.

It’s built on real experience, on the road.

We’re still riding, still exploring, and still adding new routes as we go.
